The impression Spot One & impression Wash One fixtures
represent a breakthrough in LED technology for today’s
entertainment lighting market. Whilst soft edge washlight
fixtures such as the original impression from GLP,
have been around for a few years, the tricky task has
been to create a high output performance spot & wash
fixture to match. The impression Spot One & impression
Wash One, from GLP, are the first fixtures of their kind to
be released to the global market.
Harnessing the output of enough LED sources and being
able to run it through the optical system of a spot and
wash fixture to create an even beam for color mixing,
and achieve a focusable area for gobo projections, has
been a fixture that lighting designers around the world
have been asking for ever since LED became a viable
source for entertainment lighting. The impression Spot
One’s & impression Wash One’s design harnesses that raw
power in an optical system that gives them leading edge
per formance. A designers’ wish come true.
The impression Spot One & impression Wash One feature
RGB LED engines with 8 or 16 bit control over each
color allowing for incredibly delicate color changes or
instantaneous color bumps. The spectrum they achieve
has been calibrated to be as wide as possible from soft
pastel colors to deep saturated shades – and everything
in between.
The color field also remains even across the entire beam,
no matter the size or sharpness of focus. The electronic
control of the LED engine allows full and smooth dimming
over the entire range along with fast solid state
intensity snaps and variable speed strobe rates of between
1 and 10 flashes per second.
But the wonder doesn’t stop at the LED source as the impression
Spot One & impression Wash One incorporate
the latest technology for performance, maintenance
and long term operation. They have been
designed for operation in noise sensitive environments
and will be perfectly at home
on a balcony rail in a Broadway
theatre as they will in a busy TV
studio environment, or touring
the world as part of a concert
system.

impression Spot One & impression Wash One –
the Dynamic Duo
The impression Spot One is indeed a fully featured spot
making it an ideal design tool for today’s lighting world.
Beam flexibility is achieved through a fully motorized
optical zoom system with a range of 10 to 32 degrees.
Coupled with this is a fully motorized focus system allowing
beam projections to be focussed at any range.
In terms of projection possibilities, the impression Spot
One has a packed graphics engine comprising of
two gobo wheels. Both wheels are fitted with 7 interchangeable
gobos plus open. All of the gobos
are fully rotating at various DMX controlled speeds
and fully indexable with 16 bit precision.
Supplementing these is an additional effects wheel
which allows an oversized gobo to be used in the beam
to give animation and movement to the standard gobos
at various speeds and directions. The combination
of these three wheels gives endless combinations and
effects that can be called upon. The soft break up of
light through trees, the sensation of drifting water or
the harshness of a driving winter rainstorm are all easily
achievable along with many, many more.
To control beam size output, the impression Spot One
features a high speed, fully variable iris allowing control
over beam sizing, and for effect use. The iris has an incredibly
high speed of just 0.2 seconds from fully open
to closed.
Also in the optical effects section of the fixture is a variable
speed and bi-directional rotating prism, giving additional
effects to the output beam, whether to create
additional gobo images, to add an extra dimension to
effects from the graphic wheel or to expand the beam
even further in its simplest form.
Being an LED based fixture we have been able to keep
the weight and the size of the fixture as low as possible.
Matching the impression Meisterstück in terms of its’
baseless yoke, the Spot One weighs just 22 kg / 48.5 lbs.
For ease of use anywhere around the world, the fixture also
features a fully auto sensing power supply which operates
anywhere from 100-240V at 50/60 Hz.
